hi-we are hard at work on finishing up this new record and setting up some killer shows. It's hard to explain our silence in the release of this new record, but like all mysteries, it will have a kick ass ending. This record will either be the biggest bang ever or one hell of a bust. I'm going with the bang! wait and see! I also have a truck load of music that will one day probably end up on the "Jeff" solo record. if you are interested in hearing it leave some messages on the board and i'll see what i can do about getting it up. It's all Good! Later-jeff

I know you guys think that we have fallen off the face of the earth, we haven't. we are still here and still love hearing from all of you! I know I keep saying this but the new song is Awesome! I can't wait to let you guys here it! And there are lots of shows in the works, as soon as they are confirmed, we will let you know!

Here is a picture of lance bass we took while doing a spot for the Christmas day parade in Disney world! A little known fact is, they tape the live feeds months in advance for those things! We shot this is October and it supposedly aired "live" on christmas day with regis and kelly!!

I guess he had a runny nose!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!

Sitting in the studio right now. We are recording vocals for the new song "disapear" sound great! I think I might actually get to scream on this song too! This is a pretty hooky song! I can't stop sining it! Steven has these couches in his studio that suck the energy right out of your ass! As soon as you sit, you fall into a coma! Its tough! Kevin came by and saw me today, we need to get all the street teamers together to hang out! Anyway, back to the coma!

I don't know how it will turn out in the end but i've got a good feeling. maybe we will put a bit on the website so you can check it out. later!

Ok so when I fisrt started posting journals everyday, I get accused of having "diareha of the journal" and that my entries were "too long" and now I'm in trouble for not posting enough....... Story of my life thus far. Not much to report right now on my side. I know jeff and gio finished the drums for the new song and I'm sure jeff has already written like 5 or 6 more songs since then. New music coming soon! Webmaster ed and I have been working together a little to come up with some more fun stuff for the website. As soon as we figure out how to do a remix side of the site, it will be done! Anyone who has any ideas, please feel free to post on the message board! I'm pretty sure we will be having a new section of the site ed is calling psychobabble. This is where fans and band members alike can have their real voice heard right on the website! Be looking for that soon. If there are any other ideas that people would like to see us do on the site (besides post more journals) please let us know!

Just wanted to say happy birthday thomas and thanks for all your hard work, it is appreciated more than you know!

P.S. Go see club dread this friday!

Gio recorded some drums for our new song "disapear" yesterday! It's a pretty fast song with lots of chunky guitar! While we were at Jeff's studio, his tiny little dog pooped on the floor and then ran over to Thomas who was sitting on the floor and tried to wipe his but on him!!

for those who caught the mardi gras show the little wilson, all 3 feet of him, is my son. you can't keep him off the stage. He loves it! If you listen closely to one song on "spacepimpradio" you will hear him singing backup-later

I've been getting a bunch of emails about the mardi gras show! I hope everyone is visiting the message boards. It would be nice to build a large hunger community all over! Everyone would have friends all over and could gather at hunger shows to hang out and have a good time! I think the houston chapter of the "shotgun squad" is getting it done! I sure hope that I have made myself accesible to everyone enough! Great things in store for the future, everyone fasten your seatbelts!

Had a great time at mardi gras! Thanks for everyone that froze their asses off out there!!!! A special thanks goes out to the "Shotgun Squad!" They were there all day passing out demo CDs! You guys are awesome!! People like that, make it all worth it! I can only hope that I can keep entertaining you guys!

Always working. What makes some days go fast and some days go so slow that you can watch your fingernails growing? Kevin stopped by Hot Topic today! A loyal hunger fan! Hung out last night with triple C, our tour manager. as some of you may know, we use video at shows and Chuck and I met about using some live video and some new software that allows us to mix video together and add effects and stuff. Should be pretty cool.
The button machine still hasn't come in yet, I hope I get it in enough time to make some cool buttons for mardi gras!
Long day, oh well, josef, if you read this, SMOKE!

10,000 Birds drop dead in Eastern China!

Don't know if anyone listens to talk radio or anything, but I'm a talk radio junkie! I love coast to coast! Art Bell and George do it for me! I'm not saying I believe any of it but you have to admit, everything you hear on that show is entertaining at the least! Tonight, everyone is talking about the "object" the Mars rover took a picture of and the avian disease thing. 10,000 birds dropped dead in Eastern China the other day. Can you imagine, sitting in your house watching TV and then suddenly, a hail storm! You get up to see what damage is going on outside and there are 10,000 sparrow type birds, falling from the sky! I've attached an image from the Coast to Coast website. in the horizon there is an object. It's probably a speck of dust on the lens but oooooweeeeeooooo you never know!!! N E Way, check out George Noory or Art Bell on coast to coast talk radio if you get a chance.

I haven't mentioned my wife yet in my journal. I just want you guys to know that she is everything to me and you wouldn't believe the shit she has to put up with from me! I think her journal about me would be way more entertaining than mine!

Stopped by to see TJ at Kinkos tonight (brought him some cookies) He's a hard workin man!

Push-------your getting squirlier by the minute
Gio--------your giving him too much Gio Mustard

Not much else to report, weekends get kind of slow, this week will be fun, Mardi Gras will be fun and I can't wait to party with everyone!! I think a lot of Hunger fans from all over are coming down like Wil from Corpus and Kacey from Dallas! Can't wait to see you!

Well I signed the contract last night. Shawn and Marty are gonna work hard for us and soon I will be able to leave this double life behind and start being one human! I was trying to learn how to add pics on the website but I screwed up! I guess I'm not the nerd Ed thought I was. Soon though, real soon!
Back up to the club tonight to hang out with Jeff and Thomas! Raelyn was there, her and my wife hung out for a little while (she's so nice!)
Didn't see Gio and Push out tonight, they must have gone somewhere else.
Anyway, gonna be a long day tommorrow so I won't ramble as I usually do. Jeff told me tonight that my journal entries are way to long. (PFT!) SORRY IF I WRITE TOO MUCH. Deal with it. BIATCH!

Feb 04, 2004 - 10:07 pm
By: Darren Nelson (Bass)

We had a good meeting tonight. Everything is falling into place. We have been talking to Shawn Barusch from hollowpoint management for a month or so now and it looks like we are about to sign a management contract with them! Everyone is excited to be working with them!

We listened to about 5 songs tonight that Jeff had written and had a hard time deciding on which one to record next but I think we have decided. The song is called disapear (haha, vanishing cream, I'm seeing a pattern) and we all agreed that its the next song to record. I really like it, it moves where its suppose to and is going to let me throw down on it at shows, which I love to do!!! We have a lot of great songs coming down the pipe that I'm excited about!

ED (webmaster) and I talked about having a "Hunger Psycho Babe" of the month photo contest which I hope we will roll out soon. The rules are simple, gals send in pictures of themselves with "The Hunger" logo or name somewhere in the picture. We post them on the site and at the end of the month, vote to see which babe is psycho enough to win some cool hunger swag. I found a graveyard of cymbals at the practice room tonight that I will have the band sign and we can give out with prizes (a nice wall hanging hunger item, real cymbals used by our sexy drummer Gio!). Oh man hes hot!!!

There was talk of a few shows coming up but nothing for certain yet. We are getting psyched for Mardi Gras!

On another note, I put in an order for a button maker tonight. I hope it gets here before mardi gras! I will personally be making buttons to sell at all the shows! Limited adition buttons that you will only be able to get through me!! Until someone copies me at least! I will make a whole bunch of different ones to suit everyones needs including pictures of the band and logos. Our street teamers will get their own special ones. We need to come up with a better name for our street team. Street teamers is kinda lame! We need a bad ass name!

Anyway, I would say that I am off to bed, but everyone knows that creatures don't sleep and I am a creature!

I almost forgot, steven and I talked about having a remix contest on our site as well! We will make available all the seperate tracks for a hunger song and then it will be up to you guys to remix it and then steven will vote on which one is the best and prizes will be involved and I'm sure we will play it in thomas's club!

You know, a lot of people ask me what I think of the music scene these days and I never have a real answer. I think that question would be answered a different way depending on what month it is. That just goes to show you how dynamic our industry is. Its constantly changing and moving fast! I saw that commercial on the super bowl that had that kid that said she was prosecuted for downloading music. Amazing. I think that people will always download music but I think thay whole thing with prosecuting people for it has slowed down music downloading considerably! Good for musicians, bad for music downloaders. But it still stands that people who download music, will buy music if they think the album in worth it or if its their favorite band. It just goes to show you how hard we as music entertainers have to work to put out the best product we can! Which brings me back to the point I was trying to make in the beginning, I think the music industry is as close to where it needs to be as possible. As you play in a local scene and become more popular, many local bands will talk bad about you the more popular you become. Well at least they use to. Bands that only "do it for the music," now have a scene. Music that is considered "about the music" or "real music" as some people call it has a place now. Popular music has its place too, above the underground. Underground music is right where it needs to be, underground. So I guess if someone were to ask me about the music scene, I would have to say, its in its place and if you don't think so or can't find what you are looking for, LOOK HARDER!

my first entry and i'm in a jacked up mood after watching "cabin fever" and settling down to write some new music. For the people who have waited patiently and never given up our time is coming-the new music is on fire! we don't follow the trends so you will not get any 60's style garage rock here-by the way-"max"-if you're reading this-hello! stay tuned for the best hunger music yet! later!

Well this is my first journal ever so I'm not quite sure what to write just yet! I guess I'll just go through some things I did today and write anything funny I can to keep it interesting.
I just worked today and talked to Ed the webmaster about what we can do to the site to keep traffic up. We are trying to come up with ways to keep the site as dynamic as possible so people will want to visit every day. That's tough to do, I guess if we were touring regularly, that would change.

This weekend was fun. I don't think people know how much planning and effort it takes to put on a hunger show. I don't think they know how much fun we have either! Chuck our tour manager and I always have a ton of fun. I can't write down all the trouble we get into or even the gross moments that we sometimes share, but I can tell you some of them! But not all at once, maybe as I sort through my thoughts over the next couple of days I'll tell you a few.

If I hear one more thing about janet jackson's tit I'm gonna puke! Enough about that.

I would like to give a shout out to our new friend Push, he woke his ass up at 5:00 a.m. And suffered through a hunger road trip the whole time with a smile on his face and he made it the whole day without getting raped! Next time buddy!

Anyway, I'll think of some more stuff to say later.

P.S. Thanks to the hunger street team for all the help with the flyers and promotion especially t.j. And kevin. Kevin managed to make it out to two shows this weekend! Awesome!
